Kerry Lindsell, Artist
Kerry is a wildlife and pet portrait artist. Creativity and animals have always been at the heart of who she is. After earning her Fine Art degree at Duncan of Jordanstone, and enjoying an early solo exhibition, life pulled Kerry in a different direction, and she spent several years running a dog walking business - still finding small ways to express her creative side. A simple request for a pet portrait in 2023 unexpectedly reignited her love for drawing and she returned to the comfort of graphite and charcoal.
Today, Kerry works as a pet portrait and wildlife artist, capturing the character and spirit of the animals people love most. Alongside commissions, she has embraced teaching through workshops and weekly classes, sharing the techniques and joy of drawing. Reconnecting with her art has opened up her world again, letting her re-explore old materials, deepen her style and rediscover the playful, expressive side of creating.
Mike Cordner, Boxclever
After more than 20 years of semi-professional furniture making, Mike now focuses on crafting an elegant range of jewellery, trinket and keepsake boxes at his Braco based home studio. Using primarily native Scottish hardwoods, he creates unique, beautifully finished solid wood boxes designed to hold cherished possessions. All the timbers used are sustainably sourced from accredited suppliers and may be from managed woodlands or from trees that have fallen or which need to be felled on safety grounds.
Around 15 years ago, after a break of almost forty years, Mike also rekindled his passion for painting. Working mainly with pastels, he enjoys their versatility and expressive potential, specialising in seascapes and skies, while occasionally creating still life artworks as a way to refine his technical skills.
Ellie Bate, Artist
Ellie is a keen, year round, 'wild swimmer' and loves nature. This is where she gets most of her inspiration for her work using watercolour and acrylics. She also loves to collect natural materials such as pebbles, sand and shells which she uses in her paintings. She paints from feelings and experiences she had on her wild swimming adventures as well as using scenery to influence her work.
Margaret Fraser, Artist and Original Arts
Margaret makes objects from ceramics and paints them. She also paints onto pieces of fabric she finds here and there, then adds embroidery or slow stitching. She likes the feel of the material on her hands, so lovely and soft. After painting she carefully chooses the elements she is going to embroider, sometimes sewing on quotes or words that touch her too. In the winter months she works inside the house. But, as soon as the weather allows, she heads out to her cosy little workspace in the garden. She takes inspiration from great quotes, the incredible Scottish countryside, wild animals and the colourful threads she finds in little sewing shops.
